We are pleased to announce that on August 2, 2017 we completed the Proof of Concept phase for Tauron Manufacturing S.A. Our project was designed to build a predictive model that will detect the upcoming failure of a fluidized bed boiler. The predictive model was based on the historical data, together with a full description of the events from 3 years (2013-2015) of the boiler operation. The built-in model has been validated on the actual operating data for 2016.
The failure prediction efficiency was 100% without any false positive. All breakdowns of the fluidized bed boiler were anticipated from 2.5 to 17 hours. We have also managed to predict failures of other types than assumed in the project. We believe that built-in predictive models will be effective in predicting boiler failures and, consequently, increasing the stability of the plant. As part of the further cooperation, Reliability Solution and Tauron plan to develop a boiler optimization model that will minimize the risk of failure by providing appropriate control settings (Prescriptive Analytics).
